CERRAHOGULLARI T.A.S (CTAS) is one of the oldest and most experience privately owned shipping companies in Turkey. CTAS has been ivolved in ship owning and agecy operation in Istanbul and Black Sea region for over 150 years. The Cerrahogullari family owns all shares of Cerrahogullari T.A.S

In the past CTAS established strong relation with Turkish state organisations such as Erdemir and Isdemir government owned iron ore, steel mills and the Turkish state oil companies, TPAO and Tupras. A parallel can be drawn with the company's growth and the incrase in demand for iron ore, grain, coal and crude oil for these state owned companies.

CTAS was the first Turkish shipping company to owned a modern bulk carrier in the 1960's and OBO in the 1970's a VLCC and ULCC in the 1980's. CTAS was one of the Turkish shipping companies to employ modern methods of ship managements, ship operations, and ship finance.

In 1998 CTAS decided to pursue long-term projects involving LNG and LPG transportation in Turkey. Therefore CTAS sold their Cape Size and Panamax Bulk Carriers and concentrated their resources on energy related shipping long-term project and agency work.
