MAIN ACTIVITY: The terminal is the major unit with
its plants located in Izmit where major highway, railroad
and harbour are neighboring facilities, its production,
marketing, domestic and export sales. Activities are mainly
on Industrial chemicals such as; Caustic soda, Chlorine,
Hydrochloric acid, Chlorinated paraffin, Sodium hypochlorite
RESTRICTIONS: Max. draft is 7 m. and 10.000 dwt.
ANCHORAGE AREAS: please see "Gulf of Izmit"
(Information on best location of anchorage will be given
by Pilot station).
PILOTAGE: is compulsory in the Gulf of Izmit from
Darica to the port and for berthing and unberthing and anchoring,
provided by the Dekas Pilot.VHF channels 12, 16.
TOWAGE: and/or mooring boat compulsory arranged by
pilot and and provided by the the Med-Marine.
BERTHING: Usually mooring by stern to the jetty and
two buoys on each side. Height from sea level 3 m. Ships
use both anchors from their bow. There is no more instruction
about new pier that will be operated in middle of 2002.
CARGO HANDLED: All kinds of Chemicals. Hoses from
shore to manifold length is 150-200 m. If vessel have no
permanent stern line, vessel to provide flexible hoses long
enough from ship's manifold to stern plus about 10 meters
long hoses for the distance from stern to shore connection.

the port.
WORKING HOURS: operates 24 hours a day year round.
GARBAGE REMOVAL: service is available by barge.
WASTE OIL DISPOSAL: service is not available.
